What are Floor Decals?

Floor signs, or floor display signs are signs and graphics printed on vinyl. Many establishments use these custom signs in order to emphasize rules and regulations, such as “6ft apart” signs, or for advertisement. Business signage isn’t limited to exterior signage—make use of free real estate on your property and look into floor decals.

Busy establishments like museums, movie theatres, and aquariums frequently use floor sticker signs as safety and wayfinding signs. Lifespan

Vinyl floor decals are designed for 6-12 months in heavily trafficked areas, or 3-5 year with little/no foot traffic. Once installed, they are not repositionable nor reusable. Floor graphics are intended to be a one-time and semi-permanent temporary signage solution.

Application Process

Custom floor decals must be applied to a smooth, non-porous surface. The best surfaces to apply decals are hardwood, tile, laminated flooring, or smooth concrete. Make sure the surface is dry, grease-free, and free of dust and dirt. If you apply on a warehouse floor, vacuum right before application. Your decal will NOT adhere properly if your surface is tainted.

For large decals, we recommend applying with more than two people. If applicable, cut the perforated vinyl. Mark with a pencil the area you want to place your decal. When the surface is clean and dry, remove the liner from the adhesive side of the sticker. Reapplying the decal may result in creases and weaken the adhesiveness.

Start at one end of the decal and slowly and smoothly adhere the sticker to the surface with a squeegee, using consistent pressure over the decal. Once applied, the decal is ready for foot traffic!

Useful for indoor and outdoor use for safety signs including floor safety and floor tape. Large format high-quality stickers are perfect for wayfinding signage. Don't worry about floor marking. Vehicle graphics are similar but not quite the same as floor signs so we suggest consulting with our specialists.

Floor Sticker Removal

Floor stickers are easily removable but are not reusable. To remove your vinyl decal, lift the sticker from the surface from one end. Pull the vinyl up in short, quick strokes at an angle less than 45 degrees. If there is leftover adhesive, use an adhesive remover safe for your installation surface.
